Korg’s VST Collection brings its most iconic synths together in plugin form. There are eight synths in total, which are the Triton, ARP Odyssey, MS-20, Polysix, M1, Wavestation, Mono Poly, and MDE-X. The Triton is to Korg what the Motif is to Yamaha; it’s an absolute powerhouse that changed the recording industry. The SDK provides a test application called VST3PluginTestHost for Apple Mac OS X (i386/x8664) and Microsoft Windows (32bits, 64bits). This application allows you to load a plug-in, simulates some inputs (Audio and Event) and acts like a small VST 3 host application based on an ASIO driver.

What characterizes this version of MrRay is a series of 'imperfections' introduced in order to capture, with the highest possible fidelity, the sound of a Mark I. There are mallet noises, wooden noises, metallic artifacts and changes of volume for each single note. Also, the lower notes have a particular 'growl' when you hit them hard, and when you hit more keys really hard, you'll hear them 'vibrating', originally due to the instability of the harp assembly inside the real instrument. You won't hear twice the exact same sound when you play it. When keys are released you'll hear the noises produced by the 'dampers' which stop the vibration of the tines.
