Ezdrummer2 Studio One Vst Plugin Location

  • Third Party VST integration is not supported with Studio One Artist. In order to be able to utilize additional plugins, you would need to either upgrade to Studio One 3 Professional or upgrade your Artist version by purchasing the VST/ReWire Add-On; which allows for the use of additional non-bundled Third Party VSTs as well as adding ReWire Support in Artist.

Guys,

Flexible key mapping and MIDI output allows 'driving' any 3rd party drum plugin, such as BFD3™, Superior Drummer 3™, EZDrummer 2™ and Addictive Drums 2™. Combine the sounds of your favorite drum plugin with the jam power and realism of Jamstix! Allows creating kits that use a mix of external sounds and Jamstix sounds.

As a total newbie to Mixcraft 8 I watched all the videos on the official channel and I have learned a lot how to use the program but there is one thing that I am not sure about at present.
How do you scan your plugins in Mixcraft? What folder does your plug ins reside in?
I have Sonar X3 in my system and the plug ins for that reside in a folder called Cakewalk/Vst/Plugins. Something like that.
Sonar automatically creates this folder when you install it. You don't have to use it of course but I do. All your plugins reside in that folder unless you chose to assign them to another folder.
I have Mixcraft 64 bit and 32 bit installed on my Laptop. Mixcraft is letting me use some of my cakewalk plug ins in mixcraft. It seems to be letting me use 32 bit Cakewalk plug ins in Mixcraft 32 bit and some other 64 bit plugins I have such as Addictive Drums in Mixcraft 64 bit.

Ezdrummer With Studio One

When I want to install an external VST in Mixcraft where do I put them. Is there a special folder? How does Mixcraft basically know where to look for your external VST plug ins. I didn't see anything about specifying a folder for VST plug ins during installation.

Ezdrummer 2 Studio One 4

Thanks Steve

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out here. I just bought EZdrummer 2, installed it, ran updates, and it's ready to go. I have a couple of other VST files loaded in the folder that Studio One 3 looks for VST files at and they load with no problem. I have the .dll file for EZdrummer 2 in that same folder however, Studio One 3 is not loading EZdrummer 2. I've looked in the 'Effects' section where my other VST files show up at and I've looked under 'Instruments' and it's not showing up there either. I'm totally out of ideas as to why it won't load when I have the VST file in the VST folder. I've tried closing out Studio One 3, restarting my computer, and neither worked.
I'm running Windows 8.1 btw.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ryan

You might have to tell St1/Options exactly which folder to find the EZD2 .dll I had the same problem with a different VST and it was resolved when I gave St1 a more specific path to the folder of the .dll. Seems some VST's don't need a clear path and others do.
If that doesn't work, then I 'd uninstall EZdrummer 2 and reinstall it. Make sure to keep track of where EZD2 is putting everything and don't check any boxes that asks if you'd like option for other DAWs like Ableton, Logic, etc.
Good luck.

That worked! I created a folder specifically for EZdrummer then dumped the .dll file into that folder and added that folder to the destination section in Studio One 3 and now it's showing up under the Instruments tab. Thanks for the advice 5noteblues!

I would start a fresh thread. Get your specs in your signature first.
The better you can ask the question the easier the answer, sometimes you will see the answer if you take the time to write a detailed question. What you did, what's happening etc.
You basically need to install the product and remember where you put it then to look in VST locations S1 options and make sure that location is covered by an existing path or add a new one.

Open up EZD2 standalone application. Go to Help > Show Plug-in Path.
Add that path to your Studio One VST locations list or make sure it is already in the list.
Shutdown EZD2 (standalone)
Restart Studio One
